Strengthening community conservation in Lengkur Ipu

Currently we are designing a pilot conservation projects associated with the optimization of environmental services for the surrounding community. For this project we have chosen the location at Lengkur Ipu Bintang Ninggi II village.
Currently we are conducting an inventory of the region borders with land owners who are not willing to fish in a conservation program, the total area of ​​the project site is more than 100 acres, consisting of dry and  wetlands, most of the area is still a dense primary forest with large trees and tall. flora and fauna are relatively still awake. Many encountered various forest fruits are deliciouscontains proteins and vitamins that humans need.
Not only fruit woods, this location also encountered plants by local residents believed to be a drug that can cure various diseases also found the poison tree the sap is used for hunting, the tree was named Ipu.  Among the fauna found at this location are some parimata animals, reptiles, birds and a variety of land animals are now beginning to be threatened by mining and oil palm plantations. 
That is the reason why we chose this place for the location of the pilot project prinsif conservation with community development, in this case an active role in the conservation community, making them aware of the conservation benefit to their economies.
To realize this project we need a lot of funding and environmental specialist consultants who are willing to devote their knowledge to others and environment preservation. This effort is also supported by the surrounding landowners who voluntarily join in the conservation program, to the socio-economic empowerment they have got our attention. Even though this time they get their environmental services such as gum, resin, rattan, fruits and the like, but it certainly was not enough for their welfare, for this we need to empower them to improve their well-being, without thinking they have to open up the forest and replace it with oil palm, but we only recommend them to plant rubber trees and fruit guard against the monocultures.
Early stages of this project is a priority that we did make a mark the boundaries of the conservation area to separate the areas that do not include conservation areas, further limit the area that will be made trench dividing the protected area safe from land and forest fires.

 

The urgent program of the  project is to build a guard house, guest house, making roads and bridge (small bridge) entrance to the conservation site along approximately 2000 meters. We expect the support of all parties to help us build the facility.
